FAJIMMF Commemorates World Hepatitis Day 2025 and Honors Pharm. Dr. Adeoye’s Dedicated Service

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, FAJIM Medicare Foundation held a successful Free Medical Outreach in Adalemo Community, Sango Ota — the community of our esteemed Management Committee member, Pharm. Dr. Adeoye, who recently retired from Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

The outreach was organized to commemorate World Hepatitis Day and to honor Dr. Adeoye’s many years of dedicated service in the healthcare sector. Over 180 community members participated in the event, receiving vital health screenings including hepatitis B and C testing, diabetes, hypertension, obesity assessments, and prostate cancer screening for men aged 40 and above.

A team of qualified medical professionals provided free consultations, treatments, and essential medications. The community was thoroughly mobilized beforehand, resulting in a smooth and well-coordinated exercise.

Our Founder, Prof. Fatimah Abdulkareem, delivered an educational health talk focusing on viral hepatitis awareness, prevention, and management, as well as on other common health conditions. This session empowered participants with knowledge to improve their health outcomes.

We are deeply grateful to our partners, Mega We Care and Phillips Pharma, whose generous donation of hepatitis screening kits was instrumental in the success of the outreach.

Special appreciation goes to Dr. Adeoye, whose active involvement—dispensing medications and engaging warmly with attendees—underscored his lifelong commitment to community health.

This outreach exemplifies FAJIM Medicare Foundation’s ongoing dedication to advancing public health and delivering essential care to underserved communities.
