FAJIM Hosts Public Health Student for Community Health Engagement

FAJIM was pleased to host Miss Favour Oluwarantimi, a 400-level Public Health student from Babcock University, for her academic placement between June and July. As part of her assignment, she was tasked with evaluating the school health program of a local nursery and primary school and recommending appropriate interventions.

Miss Favour visited the LUTH/CMUL Muslim Community School, where she observed that malaria was a common health challenge among pupils. In response, FAJIM organized a sensitization session for both teachers and pupils, during which Miss Favour, supported by the founder Prof. Abdulkareem, delivered an educational talk on malaria prevention and management.

To encourage engagement, treated mosquito nets were presented to pupils who correctly answered quiz questions during the session—providing protection for their families. Additionally, FAJIM donated first aid supplies to strengthen the school’s emergency care resources and snacks for the pupils.

The school administrator, Alhaji Oladeji, along with the head teachers, expressed sincere appreciation for the thoughtful and impactful intervention.
